Back to abnormal

I am officially finished with all my meds, which is good cause I HATE being given meds.
Daddy says that since I am eating and pooping normally, I don't need that stuff.

Coming home from the mall yesterday wasn't nice, it was snowing and kind of cold. But daddy had me bundled up in my hoodie and covered with my Argos blankey, I stayed nice and warm.

Recovering super fast

The last few days has been really hectic, on Thursday I had to go into the vets for dental surgery, which went very well. Dr Munn was my vet this time (he is my favorite), and he did the surgery. He expected that I would take a week or more to recover and start eating solid food again, well, I started eating solid food on Friday morning (a day after my surgery). I'm still on Metacam and Cisapride, but I don't have to have any Critical Care (and daddy got special seringes to feed me with too).

I'd like to take a moment and thank Susanne over in Zurich, Switzerland for paying my vet bills, daddy got a happy sad that she did that for us. So we are sending her a Christmas card and a couple of pictures of me to thank her. Currently we are at a shopping mall waiting for the pictures to be printed, then getting the postage to send the card.

Okay, now I can tell you what else happened on Thursday, after the vet we went straight to the theater, where they had a volunteer dinner, and then we got to see The Little Mermaid (it wasn't as good as some of the other shows we've seen, but it had some funny moments).

Vets

I bet everyone is anxious to find out how my vet appointment went. Well I have good news and some not so good news. The good news is that the problem isn't as bad as last year, it's still teeth issues, but not nearly as bad. The not so good news is that I still have to go see the vet, and have work done on my teeth, but only two this time.

The arrows point to the teeth that need to be fixed

One tooth is longer then the other
So, I still have to go back to have some dental work done, but in the mean time I am getting Metacam and Critical Care, and all the oats and hay I can eat.

I was such a good boy at the vets, that daddy got me a new stuffie, and to prove I was good I have photographic proof.
Gotta check this place out

I was playing pee-a-boo with this blanket

Having a bath, gotta wash the icky vet stuff off.

Waiting in the waiting room

I'm bored

Is it time for a nap?

This is my new stuffie.
As you can see in the final picture my new stuffie is a snowman, I named him Mr Frosty Butt.

A very important update

You might recall last year that I had some issues with my teeth, well at the time we had hoped that having them trimmed, and having a proper diet, would keep me from seeing the vet again. Well that was a bit of a stretch, it looks like I'm going to have to go see the vet anyway, daddy has noticed that I stopped eating my pellets on Friday night. He made an appointment to see a vet at the same clinic as last year, we'll be seeing them this Tuesday November 19th at 1630 (4:30pm).

Until then daddy is giving me a dose of Critical Care once a day, but I am eating some of my hay, rolled oats and some softer treats.

I also want to thank one very special person, she helped last year, and she has promised to help this year too. Her name is Trier Susanne, and she has become my guardian angel.

I'll post more on Tuesday after the appointment.

On a happier note, my cousin turned 1 month old on Friday.
One month old, and cuter then ever

Set for the Christmas season

After Remembrance Day we start getting ready for Christmas, this involves outfitting my stroller with lights (and make sure they have fresh batteries).
Did you expect me not to have a skull on my stroller
I'm gonna get daddy to decorate the skull to make it more Christmas-y.

Oh, and I wanted to show off my new favorite critter.
This is Teddy Bear, The talking Porcupine. I absolutely love this guy, go watch all of his video's, they are so funny.

Remembrance Day

Tomorrow we remember our past and present veterans, as well as the soldiers that are currently serving the the armed forces. They protect the freedom of everyone, the freedom for daddy to have me as his service animal.

Daddy had three grandfathers, and all of them served in the armed forces. One of them worked on installing RADAR systems in the AVRO Lancaster (and later installed the RADAR system for the AVRO Arrow, and worked on something called the Dew Line).
The AVRO Arrow, somewhere in the crowd is daddy's grandpa

The AVRO Lancaster
 Another flew a Short Sunderland flying boat, he did maritime patrol (searching for U-Boats, escorting convoys etc).
The Short Sunderland
 Our American grandfather we're not sure about, we do know he served in the military, but we don't what branch or where. Daddy likes to think he flew fighter planes in the Pacific.

So to honor all the pilots on this day of Remembrance, here are two poems that daddy likes to read to help with the healing.

Impressions of a Pilot
Flight is freedom in its purest form,
To dance with the clouds which follow a storm;
To roll and glide, to wheel and spin,
To feel the joy that swells within;
To leave the earth with its troubles and fly,
And know the warmth of a clear spring sky;
Then back to earth at the end of a day,
Released from the tensions which melted away.
Should my end come while I am in flight,
Whether brightest day or darkest night;
Spare me your pity and shrug off the pain,
Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again;
For each of us is created to die,
And within me I know,
I was born to fly.
— Gary Claud Stokor

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
— John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Remember on the 11th day of the 11th month at 11am to stop and remember those that have served in the military, and especially those that have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in freedom.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
      Between the crosses, row on row,
   That mark our place; and in the sky
   The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
   Loved and were loved, and now we lie
         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
   The torch; be yours to hold it high.
   If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.

Movies

I said yesterday that we were going to see a movie. The movie we saw was called Ender's Game, based on a series of books by Orson Scott Card.

Daddy hasn't read the books for a few years, so he wasn't biased while watching the movie, and thought it was a good movie. I was impressed with the effects, and really want to try the zero-G stuff.

This is the poster for the movie

More stuff

Tomorrow me, daddy and my great grand aunt are going to see a new movie, daddy says that it's based on some books that they have read. So they want to go see how close the movie stayed to the books (mmmmm books, good for chewing on).... Oh yeah, the movie, it's called Ender's Game.

In one week it will be Remembrance Day, a day we pay respect to the men and women of the military. Me and daddy will be attending two ceremonies, one that will have a 21 gun salute with actual cannons.

And on the 21st me and daddy are going to a volunteer dinner, and seeing a show afterward. We'll be seeing The Little Mermaid, but it isn't the Disney version, far from it.

And one more thing, it got cold yesterday, so much so that I had to get daddy to put my hoodie on (with the hood up), and of course daddy had to take a picture of me.
My ears got cold, so I got daddy to put my hood up
