Lets go AAAARRRRRGGGGGOOOOOOS

Yesterday me and daddy went to see our first football game, and we had so much fun, even if it was a little wet getting there.

I got to take the big train to get there, I like taking that train over the subway. Once we were downtown we had to navigate our way over to the "dome" and find the gate to get in. That's when I discovered, with great delight, that the armed forces were going to be there to help with the opening ceremonies, more on that a little later.

You might remember that daddy was going to redo my cape, well yesterday he finished it. So now for the big unveiling.
My new Sun-Em cape
 AND I even have my first action figure, Sun-Em's cousin Kal-El.

Okay. now on to the football game. Like I said we saw a LOT of soldiers outside, but we weren't sure what was going to happen. First we had to actually get inside, which was more of a challenge then it needed to be. We met with the nice lady from Fan services named Lisa Simons, who helped smooth things over with security, that was one problem solved. The next problem came when they tried to scan the ticket we worked so hard to get, there scanner thingy wouldn't accept it, a few other people had the same trouble with their tickets, not to worry though, we still got in.

Then the hunt for our seat started, we had to go halfway around the level to get to it, but it was a good seat. Daddy got me some more Argos stuff, a jersey and a football.
My new Argos jersey, makes me the cutest fan EVER

The team is stretching

More stretching

The field, which can be converted into a baseball field by moving the seats

They call this the "Jumbotron" the windows beside it is one floor of the hotel

The evil Hamilton Tiger Cats, the traditional rivals of the Argos

Under that banner are more seats

Soldiers

A giant inflatable football player.
 This inflatable football player is over by the area where the visitors dressing rooms are, so the players have to go right beside it.

Cheerleaders, need I say more?
The soldiers were there to unfurl a giant Canadian flag, and the combined band of the armed forces was there to play the national anthem, and parade the Grey Cup onto the field.
The final score for the game Toronto Argos 39 Hamilton Tiger Cats 34.
On the way home everyone we ran across was giving daddy high fives when they saw me in my jersey. And even diehard Ti-Cat fans agreed I was the cutest Argo fan EVER!!!

This is an inflatable noise maker, but I put a hole in this one, so it's on the wall
This is what the noise maker is supposed to look like.

We also helped cheer up a little girl at the game yesterday, her big brother had bought himself one of those foam fingers, and she didn't get anything. Daddy had bought me a set of Argos buttons awhile before, so with my permission daddy gave the little girl one of those pins and told her it was my present to her, well she went from tears to a million watt smile in seconds, and was quite proud to have such a special button.

An important day in history

On this day sixty-nine years ago - 24 Jun 1944 - Flight Lieutenant David Hornell (the hero that daddy's Air Cadet Squadron is named for), and his crew sank U-1225 while on a North Atlantic patrol near the Faroe Islands. For his skillful attack and the subsequent 21-hour ordeal in the frigid waters, he received the Victoria Cross; the Commonwealth's highest award for valour.

This is the PBY-5A Canso, the plane F/L Hornell flew, there is a replica of this plane in Hamilton, ON
To honor the pilots that have given their lives for our freedom here are two of our favorite poems to remember those brave pilots.

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
— John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Impressions of a Pilot
Flight is freedom in its purest form,
To dance with the clouds which follow a storm;
To roll and glide, to wheel and spin,
To feel the joy that swells within;
To leave the earth with its troubles and fly,
And know the warmth of a clear spring sky;
Then back to earth at the end of a day,
Released from the tensions which melted away.
Should my end come while I am in flight,
Whether brightest day or darkest night;
Spare me your pity and shrug off the pain,
Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again;
For each of us is created to die,
And within me I know,
I was born to fly.

Superbun to the rescue

But I need your help, the nice people in Alberta need our help, the city of Calgary is flooded and people and animals have been evacuated. So I need for my readers to try and help in any way they can.

I've been telling you about my Superbun cape, and the shield daddy found for my Kryptonian family. Well with the app on the website we were able to make a mockup of what my cape will look like with the new shield in place.
What my super cape will look like.
The color is still being decided, so it might not look exactly like this.

Tallships 1812 tour

Yesterday me and daddy went to see the tall ships, this weekend is the first where these ships will sail to different ports around the great lakes.

There are 11 ships in the tour, 5 from Canada, 5 from the US, and 1 from Norway. One of the US ships scared a lot of people (but not us), they fired their cannons at us, but the Fort York Guards were there and they leveled their muskets at the ship.

I also got to see some pirates there, not to worry though, they were just actors, but it was still cool.

During the wait for the opening ceremonies to start I got to hop about and explore, there were quite a few people close by, so I got to go meet them. (DADDY here, he was a little pest, trying to see if anyone had snacks he could mooch). I also wanted to try a drink a man had near us, but daddy said it wasn't a drink bunnies could have. (DADDY here again, Sunki wanted to try Tim Horton's coffee, which was not decaffeinated). Grrrrrrrr I'm telling this story daddy.

This is the Norwegian ship

This is a man made beach.

Neither me or daddy know how to pronounce the name

A couple of pirates, I want to be like them.
On Sunday they are going to have what they call the Parade of Sail, which is when all 11 ships at full sail parade past the harborfront.

Oh, and I have my very own Kryptonian shield like Superman has, daddy found a site that allows you to make a Kryptonian shield and your name in Kryptonian script. Well, instead of trying to tell you about it, I'll show you what I mean.
Daddy is going to replace the shield on my cape with this one, only with more color.

I am a Kryptonian

There is a website that allows you to input a few things and it shows your family, shield, and name in Kryptonian.

Daddy put my name and some other stuff about me into it, and here is what we got.

My family shield and name in Kryptonian.
Daddy is going to make a crest of this and put it on my Superbun cape. The family Em stands for End, Completion and Conclusion.
Oh, and daddy did the same, and here is his.
Daddy's family shield and name
You too can do the same thing by going here

Mascots

Yesterday me and daddy went to a festival, and we met another team mascot. This one was from my new favorite team, the Argos.
Me, Daddy and Jason
Daddy told him that we were going to the home opener on the 28th, he gave daddy a high five, and gave me a high paw.

It is just 4 days until the new Superman movie comes out, and I insisted that daddy put my Superbun cape on yesterday. Daddy had to do a bit of trial and error to make everything fit on my harness, but he managed to get my service vest and cape to fit at the same time.
Be right back, I heard a treat bag opening in the next town over

Even when snacking my super ears are scanning for trouble, or treat bags opening

blowing super raspberries

daddy caught me mid nom

I heard a treat bag opening

gotta get washed up

Still listening for treat bags or trouble

Super excited for a movie

Okay my most recent big movie is about to be released in just under a week, any guesses as to what movie it is? I'll give you a hint, the title has to do with a 'guy' and 'metal'.

The poster for the movie
Okay, I guess the poster gave it away. I can't wait to go see the Man Of Steel, which opens this Friday. And if Trekies get to dress up every time a new Star Trek movie comes out, then I'm going to dress up as Superbun when a new Superman movie comes out.
This was taken at Bunfest a few years ago, but I've still got my cape.
Today me and daddy went to a lion's yard sale, I didn't see a single lion anywhere when we were there, so I think it's false advertising....... Oh, daddy just informed me that it was put on by the Lions Club, and the people in the purple and yellow vests were the "Lions". Still seems silly to me.
While there was lots of stuff there to buy, we only found one thing, a new flag for my stroller.
My new flag for my stroller.
I've now got the Maple Leafs, Marlies, Argos, Blue Jays, and Raptors, my collection of Toronto sports team flags is almost complete, just three more flags to go. I just need Toronto FC (soccer), Rock (Lacross), and Buffalo Bisons (Blue Jays farm team). The TFC and Rock flags are going to be slightly easier to get then the Bisons flag.
